Yoga for Every Body attempts to provide each student with a nurturing learning environment in which students can learn without judgment.
Yoga for Every Body recognizes that each student brings with them their own unique qualities and experiences. During training sessions each student’s contribution will be respected, valued, and shared.
During this course the students will have the opportunity to learn a number of different varieties of the poses, asana. We cover how to teach the asana, spot misalignment, and the breath work appropriate to the asana. We also teach about contraindications, anatomical benefits, and therapeutic benefits of the asana and yoga in general. You will learn how to sequence classes (and your personal practice) and practice teaching the classes. Throughout the course we will honor and explore the philosophy and history of the eight limbs of yoga.
The expectation of each student begins with their willingness to learn and as a result their yoga knowledge will be enhanced. In addition each student will be expected to attend the class sessions and participate in both written and verbal assignments. The purpose of the assignments is in part to assess how the student is assimilating the information and determine where more time and or information may be needed to ensure quality learning. If at any time during the program the student is having any issues it is hoped that they will bring them to the attention of the Workshop teacher.
200 Hour Program will be offered in monthly weekend modules that meet or exceed the new Yoga Alliance Standards.
